Shovel Skins is the 6th customization option added to the game.
Shovel Skins was added in Winter Harvest Update 2017 Vr.0.4 (12/04/2017).

Shovel Skins are Shovel skins that the player can unlock in a variety of ways. The player has the Trusty Shovel skin by default.

There are only 70 Shovel skins in the game (1 Free, 22 For Level, 5 For Tokens, 20 For fulfilling the condition, 13 in Item Shop, 1 in Cattle Pass Season 1, 3 in in Cattle Pass Season 2, 2 in in Cattle Pass Season 3, 4 in in Cattle Pass Season 4).

- Previously, in the background in the menu was player's Shovel skin , but after Squads, Voice Chat, Lemonade, & Xbox One Crossplay Update Vr.1.6.0 (09/26/2020) this feature was removed.
- Stars used to shine near the Diamond Shovel, Silver Shovel and Golden Shovel but in Anniversary Event Update Vr.1.8.1 (06/23/2022) this was removed.
- Previously, when choosing a Shovel skin, the skin was displayed in the hands of the player, but after Shotgun Farmers 2.0 (01/20/2023), skins began to be displayed as only a shovel that can be rotated .
Intresting facts[]
- On the stream "Making new shovel skin(s) !play !freesub" could see the process of creating shovels for Fall Harvest Update Vr.0.8 (10/29/2018) (Pickaxe, Crowbar, Wrench, Pinwheel, Mace).
- On the stream "Making new shovel skin(s) !play !freesub" could see the Speed Limit sign among the Shovel skins. The sign, most likely, appeared there by accident.
- On the stream "Making new shovel skin(s) !play !freesub", a golf club could be seen among the shovels being developed. For unknown reasons, it was not added to the game.
- The idea for Mace was suggested by Karakot. The idea for Wrench was suggested by baconandx. The idea for Pickaxe was suggested by Yikes :).
- A shovel was once shown on TikTok for an outfit Hellish Harvester, but for some unknown reason, it was never added. Also on the Torkil Marvik Bidnes/Lazersofa website we can find a shovel concept for outfit Holy Grain.
- The new menu for looking at the shovel became known in one of the Discord messages.
- The Grave Digger became known in one of the Twitter posts a few weeks before the release in the game.
- Mark It Up was inspired by the Epic Pog idea in Discord.
- The code for Mark It Up was not immediately known. A post was posted on Twitter with a picture showing three blocked signs with text. To open them, it was necessary to reach 100, 200 and 300 likes under the post.
- Behind the first plate was information about the type of cosmetic item - it was Shovel skin.
- Behind the second plate was a cosmetic reveal.
- Behind the third plate was a code. Moreover, the code itself was revealed in three posts: In the first post we were told how many words are in the code, in the second we were told how many letters are in the code, and in the third post we were told how many letters are in each word. Only after these posts on Twitter posted a post with the full code.
- Previously, Go Fish had a longer line, but later, due to a bug, the line was significantly shortened.
- Clown Shovel initially did not change color when the player was wearing Smile Smile due to a bug. This has been fixed in Shotgun Farmers 2.0 (01/20/2023).
- Cosmic Shovel is based on the concept made by skully_and_dave.
- Cosmic Shovel is a reference to Star Wars.
- The Last Straw is based on a concept made by SinR R.O.B Lv9 AKA Sandmankroll.
- Guiding Road of Justice was inspired by PeanutButterBucket fan art. The original idea belongs to Thecaneman430.,
- Emergency Shovel is part of a collaboration with the game "Among Us".
- Enraged Harvester of Souls did not originally have the word Enraged in it's title. This word was attributed a little later.
- Frozen Spade was suggested by someone.
- Red Light Green Light was suggested by BigBokoblin.
- Some Shovel skins have features:
- From Opsicle and Boksicle drops of ice cream flow.
- The Sweeper, Pickaxe and Naughty Sweeper leave a small cloud of dust upon impact.
- When walking, letters will fall out of You've Got Mail. The more active the player walks, the more letters will fall. Also letters will fly out on impact.
- The top of the pinwheel is spinning.
- Fire burns on top of Tiki Torch and Anniversary Shovel.
- Anniversary Shovel releases confetti on impact. Also under the cake is written "Best before June 1 2017.
- The snow globe on the Snow Globe will shatter on impact. Snow Globe will recover only after the death of the player.
- The chain at the top of The Grave Digger moves. Also near the top is a cloud of smoke.
- Fish on Go Fish has physics.
- Leaves on Branch Manager have physics.
- Leaves and honey on Buzz Slapper have physics. Also, honey in the form of drops flows from the tray.
- Clown Shovel changes it's coloring if the player wears an outfit Smile Smile. Same with Neon Shovel & Neon outfit and Torch of Freedom & Lady Pigetry.
- Mopping' Up's rag has physics.
- The top section of The Last Straw has physics. Also The Last straw has unique sound effects. And even upon impact, a special sound of breaking a plastic tube is heard.
- Galaxy Shovel has special sound effects.
- The Cosmic Shovel on the back is turned off and the top of the shovel is off. When switching from a weapon to a shovel, the top of the shovel will appear. The shovel itself has unique sounds. Upon impact, blue sparks will fly out from the impact site.
- The Signal Smasher and Red Light Green Light lamps change color when the player is standing or moving.
- The wheel on the RGB Spade is spinning.
